Hatch chiles are hotter than your average jalapeno but, every once in a while, you will get a jalapeno that will light you on fire. I hope I can find a volunteer! We grow varieties of chile as mild as an anaheim as well as scorchers like Barker or Lumbre that are much hotter than the average jalapeno.
