How to change header on first page only mac
Thanks again, Bob, but again nothing changes - the header appears as soon as I get to it with more content, that's the same whether it's with or without a section break, and from wherever I start typing. On your second suggestion, that is what I've tried to do previously and - yet again - the header is repeated on every following page. Ticking the 'different first page' button has no affect going on my experience.
By the way, I'm not entering the header content directly as that would defeat the object of using a template. I'm afraid I don't follow your final paragraph on use of a Page Break, though. I don't 'need' a section or a page break, it's just using a section break was suggested by other posters as a way of forcing the header to effectively 'turn off' - only it doesn't - on the following pages.
Please help. Writing a book where page number 1 starts on actual page 12 of document. No problems, but I want a headed of those numbers pages only NOT including the new chapter heading it would be redundant. When I do what you suggest, all of my page numbers are out of wack and each chapter now starts as page 1???

In reply to forumuser16's post on October 16, Assuming the intended content already is contained in the Header: If you don't have one, create a Section Break Next Page following the 14 lines on page one Go into the Header on Section 2 which should be on the 2nd page Clear the check box for Link to Previous Delete any content it may have had. Thanks again for your reply, Bob. In reply to forumuser16's post on October 17, Would you have any other thoughts? GaryUltra Replied on September 10, This site in other languages x. Click inside one of the sections where you want to add a detail. Add your own details : To add your name, company name, school name, subject, or something like this, you can simply type it into the section of the header or footer where you want it.
Page Count : To add a page count, click Insert from the menu bar or the Insert button in your toolbar. Then, select Page Count. There, you can select the formatting for your page numbers. First, add it and then click on it.
